I have found to realize that age do not hinder people to control you...
Even at the age of 20 parents can't stop seeing their kids as little babies they need to control constantly...
That is not a problem but with time, if that occurs over and over again it brings mistrust and distance...
I know the love between parents and kids is uniquely made and nothing really can break it(except abuse or other)...but if control is ever present in that relationship it bring forth mistrust, anger and distance...
Parents need to let their kids feel they trust them to achieve things on their own in life...especially at the age of 20....I don't mean crazy life-threatening things but at least the simple one's like making a call at the doctor!!!....or decisions on how to manage their own life...
If you don't let kids have a little control, experience life on their own...then you are controlling them...at first it will be appreciated but with time it will start to grow into mistrust....out of mistrust distance will have it's way....
Parents I'm not saying you should let your kids loose but give them the feeling they are perfectly made and they can handle things on their own with 20!!! ;)
